On September 11th between 2-4pm we are opening Kincumber Neighbourhood Centre to the community, so that you can come in and see what has been happening to your centre over the past few months. Pop a note in your diary and come over and have afternoon tea with us - looking forward to welcoming you and your friends.
KNC receives funding under the Community Builders program which is being considered by FACS to be part of this reform.
See FACS website for more information.
KNC will be formulating a response and have already contributed to our peak body, LCSA, response at the Conference.
If you are interested in our response or contributing to our response please contact Nicole or Colette, Managers, on
43 631044 or email email@example.com.
We will have more information about this at our upcoming Afternoon Tea at KNC from 2pm on Friday 11th September
Last speaker before lunch, that time at the conference where you need to be woken up and made to pay attention because lunch is imminent and you've been sitting for a long time!! Cathy Nisbet from Kogorah Community Services delivered!! This was her message
An inspiring key note 'Turning outward: why it's imperative' by Rich Harwood. http://www.theharwoodinstitute.org
Rich asks us 'do we want to choose the path of status quo or the path of change?'
He points out that if we make a choice to look outward to our community, rather than inwards to our organisation and if we build things together, no matter how small, and create a positive narrative for our community then we can 'pivot to possibility and hope' .
A great message and start to the conference
Good morning from the LCSA Conference. 'hear the voice of the community' is the theme. Colette and I look forward to being inspired as we also connect with neighbourhood centres and other services from around NSW. Stay tuned as we keep you updated.
